Oman Coming soon

Oman is introducing a phased e-invoicing and tax-reporting mandate, built on the Peppol network and structurally similar to the UAE's model. Businesses will exchange invoices over Peppol while their provider independently reports tax-relevant data to the Oman Tax Authority (OTA) on every transaction.

The mandate at a glance

  • Rollout happens in four phases: an initial group of around 100 large, invited businesses from August 2026; all large VAT-registered businesses from February 2027; all remaining VAT-registered businesses, including SMEs, from August 2027; and government entities on a date still to be announced.
  • The regulatory model mirrors the UAE's: both the sending and receiving provider independently derive and submit a tax-data document to a dedicated tax-authority access point, which forwards the data to the OTA.
  • Business-to-consumer sales carry a mandatory QR code on the receipt, so consumers can verify the transaction was reported.

How it works

  • Invoices and credit notes use the Oman-specific Peppol invoice format and travel over the standard Peppol network.
  • Businesses are identified by their 12-digit Oman VAT Identification Number.
  • Onboarding runs through a single national directory and portal operated by the OTA, rather than the more distributed setup used in most other Peppol countries — businesses log in to the government portal and appoint their chosen provider there.
  • Tax-data reporting happens per transaction, in near-real time, with no periodic batch filing.

What Arratech handles for you

Oman support is on our roadmap and not yet available on Arratech Connect. Once live, we expect to offer Peppol registration under your Oman VAT number, invoice validation and delivery tracking, and tax-data reporting to the OTA, in line with how we support the UAE today.

Getting set up

Oman isn't yet available on Arratech Connect. If you need to be ready ahead of the mandate, get in touch with your Arratech contact to discuss timelines — once support goes live, setup will follow the same pattern as our other jurisdictions: create your account and organisation, register as a participant with the correct Oman identifier, send documents in the required format, and confirm delivery with webhooks and status checks.
